Introductory classes
In these classes we discussed the study design and we handed you a copy of it, here is an electronic version for you to print should you have misplaced your "yellow" one.
If you have not read this cover to cover several times then please do! It provides you with the exact material that you will be examined on.
The exam is 2.5 hours long and made up of 60 multiple choice question marks, 65 short answer question marks and 15 marks for a research methods extended response question.

You will have noticed that research methods is outlined exclusively in the Unit 3 study design. Prior to 2013 there were dot points in both units.
Please download the above resource and complete in your workbooks the activities by reading the content on the left and completed the activities on the right:
1. Establishing research
1.1 Steps in research (pages 2 and 3)
1.2 Independent and dependent variables (pages 4 and 5)
1.3 Formulating a hypothesis (pages 6 and 7)
1.4 Population and sample (pages 8 and 9)
In your introductory lessons we went over the Research Method's dot points so this should be revision. If you are not feeling confident then read chapter 1 of your book as it contains all of the same information but extended in their explanations.
